Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and the owner of Exploration Counseling. My passion is working with individuals who have experienced trauma and who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and relational stressors. I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University, and my Bachelors degree in Psychology from Mary Baldwin University.
In every session I take a trauma informed perspective, meaning I look at things from a whole picture perspective - present and past- to best help you. I have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). For children under 12 years of age I utilize Play Therapy to help them express and/or communicate their feelings. In addition, I am a Virginia- Approved Supervisor for LPC residents.
I know it can feel daunting finding the right therapist, but my goal is to provide a safe and trusting environment where you can express yourself authentically and grow. I believe that everyone has the inner strength and resources to heal themselves, and I guide my clients through this process to promote healing and change. Together we will work to overcome obstacles and challenges that you, or your child, are currently experiencing or have experienced in the past.
I welcome clients of all sexual, gender, spiritual, and religious orientations.
The Unofficial Stuff
First and foremost I am Me. Then: I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and aunt. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and baking. I think it's important to bust the "traditional therapy" mold and really connect with my clients. Meaning, I will talk to you like a real person, not a clinical robot.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Resident in Counseling who entered the field after many years working in healthcare. I find purpose in the real and meaningful conversations during life’s most significant events or deepest questions. I am genuine, compassionate, and non-judgmental. Often, we suffer because the life we pictured is not the life we have. This does not mean that our life doesn’t have beauty, meaning, and significance just as it is. Some of our greatest challenges move us towards our greatest growth and give us purpose. I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Mason University, a Master’s degree in Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgetown University, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor’s in Biology from Bucknell University. I believe that the integration of the mind and body is necessary for a healthy being.
I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults in hospital and outpatient settings and with clients experiencing both acute and chronic mental or physical health concerns. I have a passion for working with those who are experiencing mood disorders/ depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, chronic pain, grief, infertility, post-partum issues, stress management, weight or body image concerns, and life transitions. I utilize trauma-informed care and a person-centered approach with clients.
Together, we will work on acceptance, self-discovery, self-compassion, collaborative change, and examine patterns that aren’t working anymore. I believe clients are the experts on themselves and often already know what they need, but just need help getting there. I can’t wait to meet you!
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and have training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Hello! I am a Licensed Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia. My passion is providing compassionate support to individuals and families as they navigate transitions together, particularly through grief, loss, and illness. I earned my master’s in education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Mason University and a bachelor’s in communication from Christopher Newport University. I am also a certified coach of the Online Resilient Parenting for Bereaved Families Program through the Arizona State University REACH Institute.
Throughout my time in the mental health field, I have worked in crisis counseling, facilitated support groups focused on grief and child loss, and provided support to adult and pediatric oncology patients. I work with adults, children, adolescents, and young adults to develop coping skills as they adjust to change. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic illness, medical trauma, infertility, stress, and bereavement. Overall, my expertise lies in loss, which doesn’t just occur after a death. You can experience grief in relation to a divorce, job change, school transition, a move, terminal illness, or overall loss of how you expected life to go.
Whether someone is experiencing internal or external conflict, my goal is to bring heated moments to a cool calm utilizing mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, so that the individuals I work with can make decisions based on their goals and values. I enjoy being creative in sessions with my clients, and pride myself with being a safe space to process the many challenges life can throw our way. I would love to work together towards healing no matter where you are on this journey!
More About Me
I am a northern Virginia native who loves to frequent local coffee shops, hiking trails, and farmers markets on the weekends. I am no stranger to big life transitions, as I made the leap from working in the non-profit world to the mental health field in 2022. I am a wife and new mother to twins, who understands the challenges of parenting multiples. I believe in the dignity of each person and their right to heal and grow through any challenge life may throw at them in a respectful environment.
